Memorial Weekend

This past weekend we went up to Idaho to see Jake's parents and then over to Bear Lake to meet up with the Carlson's. It was so nice to get outside and be away from my house for a couple of days. On Monday we had a picnic for my Grandma's birthday. We stopped by the cemetery on our way up and had a lunch in the park. I can't even remember when we last did that. It was nice to be with our family and friends this weekend. I did however manage to leave my camera outside in the rain storm up in Malad. Hopefully it still works. I'm pretty sick about it.

This month was our five year anniversary and it has gone by so fast. Jake was in Brazil for ten days for his Master's program and didn't get home until the day of our anniversary. He was a good sport and took me to dinner. I knew he was exhausted but it was fun to just go out with just him. It has been awhile! He had taken that next Monday off so we headed up to Park City to do a little shopping. No one was up there and it was such a nice day. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love Jake. He is my everything. I don't think I ever tell him how much I appreciate him enough. He is always making sure that I am taken care of. We go on vacation and I don't ever have to ask him or nag him about anything. He just does it. I love you Jake, Happy Anniversary!

Avery is almost 10 months now and is trying so hard to walk. On May 13th, she took her first step without holding on to anything, toward Jake. She is also getting her first two teeth. It is funny how things set off your emotions. Two Sundays ago, we were up at my parents house and I hadn't noticed Avery's teeth yet and I was feeding her and saw that they were starting to poke through. I almost started to bawl! I don't want my baby to get big!! I was actually kind of getting worried that she didn't have any teeth in there since she is almost 10 months, but luckily she does! It's good, she needs teeth right?! She is still the cutest baby ever. She is so fun to just sit and watch. I wish that I could video tape her every little moment because I know that I won't remember everything. I absolutely love this age. She is so funny and so fun to have. The other day I was making her bottle and she saw it and came racing over to me to get it, huffing and puffing the whole way. It was so cute. She cracks me up.

Jake is also graduating with his Master's this weekend. YAY!!! I am so proud of him. He has worked really hard and has accomplished so much. Congratulations Jake on a job well done!

Our first stitches and trip to the ER

Okay, well it wasn't actually the ER it was more just like an emergency trip to the vet! On Wednesday, I let Zoey out in the backyard and apparently she is still small enough that she can squeeze her little self under the fence. Our neighbors have a little puppy too and they frequently play with each other. Well, I went to go get Zoey because I couldn't hear her and my neighbor call over the fence to tell me she was playing with Bella. We ended up talking in the front yard for a little bit and Zoey was a getting a little annoyed with Bella. Bella doesn't know when to let it go and she doesn't bite, but she will grab Zoey's skin and legs and anything else she can get her teeth around. Well, as soon as we were both picking them up they started going at eachother and somehow Zoey lost the battle. She was gushing blood from her eye. We cleaned her up but she had a pretty good hole underneath her eye. I didn't know if I should take her to the vet or not but decided to since it was her eye. Dogs get cuts all the time but I figured her eyes are kind of important!! Well, a vet ER bill and three stitches later we came home with lampshade and all. It was really sad! Here she is with her three stiches and her cone that she hates! (I like her to wear her lampshade becuase then she can't get under the fence!!).Good thing the cone is clear! It is kind of sissy looking!!!
