In Avery's words....

We were watching family home videos and Jake asked Avery if that was "Aunt Beckee", her response,
"no, she's a people!"!! 8/27/11 (I guess she thought Jake was calling Beckee an ant!!)

Avery went to Cabella's with Jake today and Jake was teasing Avery saying that the stuffed bears were going to get her. I guess they were walking down the stairs and Avery quickly moved to the other side of Jake and said "that bear is going to get you daddy!" (the polar bear that was on the side of the stairs) 8/20/11

Avery was drawing today and she tells me she is drawing me. After finishing "my" portrait, she says she is going to draw her dad, "and it's going to be scary!!" I about died!! Whenever she says something is scary, she will put her hands up and shake them. She is such a funny little girl!

She came into my room this morning and put her arms around my neck and in her sweet little voice she said "I love you mom". Melted my heart. She is such a cute little thing!

I asked Avery what she learned in preschool on Tuesday, her reply..."nothing". Great! What are we paying for?!

Rylee eating oatmeal for the first time!

My cute girl at 4 months, having her first taste of oatmeal. She hated it, pulled faces, gagged, and didn't really get what she was supposed to do. I guess that is expected when you are only 4 months! I didn't give Avery real food until she was six months, so I may hold off a little bit and try again in a couple weeks. I love my Ry. She is such a sweet baby.

We are SOOO Big!!

My baby is 3 and is off to school! She couldn't be more excited! She had her 3 year old check up today and had to take her "packpack" with her!

(Overall, the doctor thinks she is a healthy beautiful girl....so do I!)

Lately, she has been really hard, but she is still so sweet and so fun to have in our home. She cracks me up all the time. She will grab my neck and give me a loooong smooch right on my lips without warning! She copies everything I do and I love her to pieces!

This morning, I was trying to get out the door to the doctors and she has watched me a number of times do my hair curly. Well, she ALWAYS asks if she can have moose for her hair and today I gave in. (I was in too much of a hurry to fight!!) She tipped her head upside down and started "scrunching" her hair. I tried really hard not to laugh but it was pretty cute. She is my little sweetheart.

Avery loves her sister. She will say things to Ry that I have said like "good morning sunshine" and she always wants me to make Rylee smile. "Make her smile, mom" "there's your happy face!"

Avery loves to growl. I'm not really sure why. She growls at bugs, she growls at Rylee. I don't know if she growls at things that intimidate her or what, but it's kind of funny! Avery LOVES to be outside. She loves to ride her scooter and her bike with her "friends". She always has to yell across the street and say hi to Carter, Sienna, and Danika.

Rylee's 4 Month Check-up

Rylee is growing like crazy and is such a sweet little girl. She is a very happy baby, unless she is poopy, hungry, or needs to burp. She loves her sister. She cracks up at Avery all the time. Avery will jump on the bed and Rylee thinks it is hysterical. Avery growls at her and she laughs. Her smile could win you over in a heart beat. Rylee is such a joy and I can't imagine life without her.

If you vibrate your lips at Ry, she will blow bubbles back at you. She can hold her own bottle (not for long periods of time), but she does know how to get it in her mouth. She has found her toes and is constantly playing with them.  She is still waking up 2-3 times a night, but I'm really hoping she starts to go a little longer! She still likes to be swaddled when she sleeps. Like Avery, Rylee came out very alert with her eyes wide open. Rylee is sill very alert and aware of her surroundings. When you hold her, her little eyes are studying you like crazy.

Having two kids is a lot of work. I wonder all the time, how people have more than two. I know, two doesn't sound like it's that hard, but it is honestly a challenge for me. I want Rylee to feel like she is my number one, but I also want Avery to think she is as well. It is a hard balance to figure out and I'm not quite sure I am there yet. I hate that I have to let Ry cry or I have to keep telling Avery, "just a sec" (because I feel like I am constantly saying that). I couldn't be more blessed as a mom to have two incredible blessings in my life. What would life be without them?!

Avery's Birthday

For Avery's birthday, we went to Artic Circle with her cousins Mikaylee, John, Hadley, Chase, and Haylee  and her aunts Jaymie and Beckee. It always seems to be crazy at those play places but they seem to have a good time! I mean, we were there for over 2 hours!! After lunch, Aubrey came over and watched Rylee while Jake, Avery, and I all went and saw Cars 2. It was a cute movie, although I think I liked the first one better. Avery was so excited to go see a movie! After about an hour, she was ready to get up and do something else. After the movie we went to Subway for dinner! It was so fun just to be with just her and celebrate her special day! I can't believe she is already 3!!
