Christmas Tree Hunting

The weekend after Thanksgiving, we head up to Idaho and have made the tradition for the past couple of years, to cut down our own Christmas tree. This winter has felt more like spring and we haven't had any snow, except for what you see in the shade. We left Rylee and grandma back at the house while, Jake, Bruce, Avery and I all went hunting up the mountain for the perfect tree. The tree usually ends up looking Charlie Brownish, but it's the tradition and the fun of finding one. ...and you can't beat the price of $6 bucks!

Jake cutting our trees down!

Avery was such a good sport on the four wheelers. She is in the truck trying to get warm.

Few pictures of these two men!!

And come to think of it,...I don't think I took a picture of it all lit up or decorated!! oops!

Avery cracks me up, the other night she was in drawing on her easel. She came out to tell us she had drawn herself, eyelashes and all. She was so proud. It was pretty cute.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving day was quiet and uneventful. We just hung out with our little family. I love my two little munchkins (prinesses) and can't get enough of them. For the most part, Avery is pretty patient with Rylee and is always trying to help her. I hope that doesn't change. I hope they can be best of friends. Rylee loves Avery!
Later that afternoon, we headed to my mom's for dinner. We had yummy food and stuffed ourselves until we were sick.

Another daddy moment. Jake dances with his girls and they LOVE it.

This picture was taken the day after Thanksgiving. I was taking a shower and Rylee bounced herself to sleep.

Disney on Ice

There is one thing Jake is really good at, well, he is good at a lot of things, but one thing he is really good at, is being a thoughtful dad. He had heard on the radio that Disney on Ice was coming to town and wanted to take Avery. He got everything set up and bought tickets 5th row from the front. It seriously so fun. Avery loved it. She was in the isle dancing and singing. It was actually really good that we were so close to the ice. Avery could see all the characters and was literally entertained for two hours! So fun!

**She still talks about ice skating like the princesses a month later!

Avery, my cute girl

I was making dinner tonight, cutting up cabbage for a salad and Avery was at the counter watching me. As I'm cutting, she tells me..."do this, mom" and does the motion of chopping, fast! I, of course, am no culinary expert...if I have all 10 fingers and toes at the end of cooking, then it's been as success. But, I amuse her and start chopping fast! She starts laughing and says "That's what Princess and the Frog doose!" (she doesn't get the does word!)

I picked Avery up from preschool yesterday, and as they were all coming out of the gate, they were all wearing their turkey hats they had painted. It seriously was the cutest thing. Not a care in the world! I was smiling and as soon as Avery saw me. She took it off. As she was climbing in the car, I asked her why she took it off. Her response "You were laughing at me"......Another mother of the year award moment.
