More summer fun!

I guess it is time for a new post! Every year for Father's day, Jake's family comes over for a huge dinner. It is like Christmas for them! We have BBQ ribs, yummy funeral potatoes, fruit, homemade rolls, and homemade ice cream! We only see his side of the family twice a year so I guess that is why they party hard!! It was good to see them.
I didn't take any pictures on Father's Day. Lame. Here is the only one!

Just another quick note...Jaymie found out on June 22, that she is having a BOY!!! We are so excited for her and can't wait to see what that cute little thing looks like! We definitely need another cousin in this family!!

We also celebrated Jake and my birthdays. I hate birthdays. I'm not really sure why, sometimes I feel like crying because it's my birthday!! ;) I was thinking the other day, that I can say "15 or 20 years ago" and I would be 8!!! AAAAHHHH. That creeps me out! I know that everyone older than me says that 28 isn't very old, but man, I guess what kills me the most is the fact that I can say "well, about 15 or 20 years ago I did this" and how fast time goes. I remember distinctly how long it seemed for Christmas to get here. It couldn't get here fast enough and now it doesn't seem to slow down any. My baby is almost 1 and I seriously can't believe how fast this year has gone.

For my birthday, Jake took me out to Wingnutz (definitely would go back! YUM!) and we went and saw The Proposal! We both loved the movie. It was so funny! Jake would even pay to go see it again and if you know Jake, he is too cheap to go to movies!! Anyway, it was so fun just to go out without Avery, and be with just the two of us. It has been a long time since we have not had anyone go with us. It was fun just to be with Jake.

The next weekend, the Carlsons were kind enough to let us come up and join in their party in Bear Lake! It was still a little chilly to go out on the lake, so we took the kids to the pool at Bear Lake West. This was Avery's first time swimming and she LOVED it! At first she was a little nervous but after she realized how fun it was she was in heaven. The pictures don't do her justice. She actually loved it but I think it was nap time!! Thanks for the great time
Carlsons!!

This picture totally cracks me up, she is usually a very happy baby, but when she has her moments....watch out!!Avery and Addie Carlson just haning out! They had so much fun!
My little beach babe!

For Jake's birthday and for the 4th of July, we took Jake's family and one of Josh's friend's family down to Payson Lakes. It was absolutely beautiful! With all the rain that we have been getting this year, it was so lush and green. It is a small lake, but very beautiful. We borrowed my parents trailer which was a definite life savor for Avery. And we had so much fun. I love to camp but I don't remember it being as stressful!! I was telling my mom the other day that camping is hard work! (and they took us for so many years! and six kids!!) You always have to be one step ahead or you have children falling apart! We didn't eat until late most nights which made feeding Avery a bit of a challenge! We also took Avery off formula, which we convienently ran out of formula this weekend. Although, I'm not sure that was such a great idea!! She wasn't quite used to cold milk and heating it up at 5 in the morning was a challenge. It also rained two days out of the four that we were there. I don't mind the rain, in fact I love it, and honestly it wouldn't have been a vacation without some kind of weather! (That's the only way the Olsen's know how to vaca!). After the rain cleared up, it was beautiful and warm. In all, we had a great time!
Jake opening his birthday card!

Is that background not georgous?!
Camping pictures are so not cute, but I love this picture of Jake. I don't get him smiling a lot of the time, but he is in this one and I LOVE it!!
Being big in her chair!

I think I'm cute...how bout' you?!! *cheeseball!!

Yesterday, we were able to go through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. How fun is that?! I am thrilled that it is so close. I know that some people might think that what is the point of going if you can go through when it is dedicated anyway. Lately, (well, for a while) I have been jealous of the places the prophets go and visit. I have been jealous of all those cute people that get to meet the prophets and leaders. How amazing is that. So, in a way I have felt like we take things for granted so much and going through the open house is a way I can take advantage of what is in front of me. I know Avery won't remember anything, but the fact that she can look at pictures and know that she was in the house of the Lord, and know that going through was important to me, then I am on my way in teaching my baby the gospel. It was so fun to be with Jake, Avery, Aubrey, my mom, my dad, Jaymie and Sam. I was actually shocked to see Sam. He just had surgery on his chest a week ago. Aubrey pushed him through in a wheel chair. I was glad he was there. My dad, Jake, Sam, my mom, me, Avery, Aubrey, and Jaymie (and her little boy, but he is still cooking!!!)

This summer has been busy, but I am so grateful for my sweet family. I am grateful for Jake and I hope that he had a happy birthday! I am grateful for this free country we live in! I love the 4th of July for the mere fact that it forces us to remember where we live. Awesome. Happy Be-Lated 4th of July!!

Avery is so STINKIN cute! I can't stand it! Love the pictures of all her smiles, her crying in her cover-up, darling swimsuit, and her sleeping with her mouth wide open! I just want to squeeze her! That IS a great picture of Jake (with you camping)! Looks like you guys had fun camping. Wish we could have been at the temple with all of you!

You and your fam are just so cute! Avery is ginormous! She isn't even one yet and she seems so independent. The camping trip looked like so much fun, I haven't done that in FOREVER! It is true, how you realize how much work it is when u are the mom. Oh, and I cry on my birthdays too- I hate getting old!
