Our Neighbors always put on a spectacular firework show and since the law changed and you can now do aerial fireworks, we all decided we don't even need to go to any park to enjoy them! It was hysterical! There were sooo many people this year and it was so fun! They always do a BBQ in the street and anyone is welcome. Apparently, one neighbors spent over $300 going up to Wyoming to get the "good" ones and another neighbor spent nearly as much! So crazy! I think we have to pyromaniacs on my street! There were so many kids in the street it was making all the moms nervous! My friend Tori had to go inside because she could take the anxiety of all the chaos and all the kids with sparklers and wanting to light fireworks. It was a little nuts, but so fun!
Avery LOVED the fireworks! She thought they were so cool! She was dancing to them it was pretty cute! Jake told her that he was going to have fireworks for his birthday, so all weekend she was wondering when we would see the fireworks.
I love living in this neighborhood. There are lots of "friends" for Avery to play with, and for the most part all the parents get along and we can laugh and talk and enjoy each other's company. I love living in a culd-a-sac as well. We just let all the kids run around and don't have to worry about traffic.
**The next day, we were coming in with all of our stuff and I let Zoey out. We always let Zoey out. Well, apparently she is mortified of fireworks! Someone in the neighborhood was letting them off and freaked Zoey out to the point she was on a dead sprint. We weren't too worried about her, since she doesn't go far and would come back if she did. Jake was talking with the neighbor and after calling for her, she didn't come back. Jake was up until 3 a.m. looking for her and back at it again at 6 a.m. We finally decided, with the help from Josh, to post pictures of her and our phone number. Around 3 in the afternoon, a girl called and said she had seen our flier and that she had dropped Zoey off to the Humane Society that morning! She said she found her around midnight the night before across Bangerter and 13400. I'm surprised she didn't get hit! Thank heavens for good samaritans. Jake, Josh, and Avery went to pick her up and make sure that it was her. Sure, enough. The pads of her paws were pretty bloody and torn up, but other than that she was good to go! Good thing we found her! Everyone was pretty worried.
It was so funny because she is like the neighborhood dog. All the kids love her and talking to the parents around our house, they all said that when they heard Zoey was missing, all the kids were worried we weren't going to find her!

Avery has had problems falling asleep. It is obviously late after fireworks, but apparently she still wanted to color! I love the crayon in her hand!! |
