Our second stop was Puerto Vallarta. We walked off the ship, posing for pictures every few feet. We got ready for our 5 hour excursion, Extreme Canopy. We rode a speed boat across the bay. It was beautiful! Then we loaded up into jeeps and climbed the hills to our next stop. The Mexicans called it the "Mexican Massage", it was so rocky. The kids had just gotten out of school so they walked along the road in their school clothes. People were hanging laundry, several dogs lay sleeping on the side of the road, toddlers walking around with no worry about Jeep safety. :)Everything seemed so laid back. We made it to the top and got geared up for our adventure. The guys leading us gave us shirts to put on that squeezed us all so tight, Mark said he felt like a "donut in a wrapper". We all laughed about that because it was so true! And the shirts were stinky! They also gave us wet, slimy gloves to put on. We obviously weren't the first to go on this excursion and the humidity didn't help either. We rode mules up to the top of the hill and did several rappels, zip lines, and waterslides. I was seriously mortified! One of the guys kept calling me 'angry' or asking me why I was so angry!! I kept telling him that I wasn't angry at all, and that I was scared out of my whits! There was one of them that knew I was scared and so he made it appoint to help me, which I appreciated! It was so fun to all be together! The guides don't give you a heads-up at all to what you are about to encounter, especially when it comes to the watersides! I honestly thought I was going to die! The water was absolutely freezing! After everyone had gone down, and the shock had all worn off, we looked at each other and laughed! We didn't even know what we were doing!!! Was it even safe?! Anything goes in Mexico, I suppose! At the very end, hey put hockey helmets and elbow pads on us. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. The beginning of the last slide, it was like the free fall at the water parks here, and then it swirled down to the bottom. It was a ride I will never forget! You seriously went so fast. At the end they gave us pineapple, cantelope, and watermelon, chips and salsa, and homemade quesadillas. So yummy! It was so crazy and so fun! They caught some pretty good expressions on camera from everyone! We all laughed pretty good! We rode in the jeep back down to the boats, took a few pictures, and rode back to the ship.
