Payson Lakes
We decided to go to Payson Lakes with Jenn and TJ Carlson and their girls. We were only going for one night. Jake was so excited to go that he went out and bought the stuff we needed two nights before and started packing way in advance. I don't blame him, I was pretty excited too. We got all packed up and before we could even turn the corner to come out of our neighborhood, Avery throws up in the car! Sick!! I would much rather clean up poop than vomit. So we turned around to clean her and the car up. That morning was the ward breakfast and Avery had been a crazy girl and was riding her bike like a mad woman around the park in the little parade. She threw up then, but Jake just figured it was heat exhaustion. It was really hot, even at 9 am. So we threw her and a different booster in the car and started on our way. Not long after that, on I-15, she threw up again, luckily aiming for a bag we had given her. What were we thinking?! I kind of felt like a bad mom, taking my kid camping when she kept throwing up. And let's be honest, who wants to deal with puke in a tent?! But, everything was packed to the hilt and we were on our way. Payson isn't too far, so if it got bad, we would just go home. She didn't have a fever....so let's keep going. We got our tent side set up and decided to go fishing. We had just gotten there, started to relax and .....vomit, again! So, I took her and Rylee back to the campsite and started dinner. Avery just lied on the picnic bench the entire time. I felt really bad to sit and watch her heave. There honestly is nothing worse than watching your kid heave and heave and not have anything to throw up. I felt really bad. I put the girls to bed. We roasted smores and played a game and then went to bed....well sort of. Both Jake and I got in our sleeping bags...and again! Heaving. Only this time, I don't think she woke up. I think she heaved into the nearby pan and fell back to sleep. Rylee on the other hand is a really light sleeper. She woke up. It took another hour or hour and a half to finally get Rylee back to sleep. The next morning we were eating breakfast and again...vomit. Avery couldn't keep anything down. She told us she wanted to go home. ...So we packed up and left. Phew. That was a lot of work for 14 hours of camping. I felt bad for Jake who had worked so hard to get us there. It was fun, but we need to have healthy kids to have even more fun!! Needless to say, it was our first camping trip in our new "investment" (springbar tent), as Jake calls it. Other than having sickies it would have been fun!

Rylee's first trip to the Zoo
A bunch of girls from my ward got together and went to the Zoo. It was soooo hot, but luckily there was a breeze. I really like the zoo. I kind of feel bad for the animals, but The Hogle Zoo is trying to redo some of it's exhibits to make them better. They just got done with the polar bear, black bear, walrus and seal exhibits, and I have to say, it is quite the improvement. Avery was a little exhausted since we went after gymnastics, but Rylee on the other hand, couldn't have been happier! She LOVED it! It was nice to get out and hang out with some friends. We'll definitely have to go again!

My Birthday
This June has been hot and dry, so for my birthday, we (my siblings and my mom) decided to get some Cafe Rio and let the kids play in the water. Honestly, it was a great birthday! The kids were happy and it was so nice to sit and not feel rushed to go anywhere and we just sat under the big trees. (I want my trees to grow, so we can have some shade too!!). They played outside all day. I sometimes think that we don't go outside enough. That there are too many electronics that interfere with life. It was so beautiful and nice to sit and laugh with my family! Thanks everyone for the nice day!
Jake was really cute too, the day before he and Avery gave me a Nook. Very excited to use it!

Summer Fun
| Chloe Brown, Claire Trimble, Avery, Will Searle, Grace Van Leeuen, Maddison Jackman |
Avery is pretty lucky, in the fact that we have so many little friends in our neighborhood. I honestly wished I could have invited all of them, but six was quite a few!
| They were sick of me taking pictures!! |
It was pretty cute. After convincing them that we weren't going inside to play, they started to actually "play". It was fun to listen to them pretend. Will was the only boy, he stood on the slide and yelled "who wants to be my queen"....crickets....after no one said anything, he got smart and said "who wants to be my princess?" All of them came running! So, he was the king and they were the princesses!
It was great fun to have them over! We'll have to do it again!
