Island Park
Each year, we go up to Island Park with my family. This year it happened to fall over New Year's. It is always fun to go hang out with the fam! We eat, play games, eat, lounge and did I mention we eat?! and this year we even got to snowmobile. I love hanging out with my family. It is so crazy sometimes but it's great fun!
This cabin is so nice. Mark's parents' actually bought it. It has a garage/separate loft. It has a ping pong table and other amentinites. We played ping pong and I thought it was so much fun.

Swimming in December
We have passes to the rec center in Herriman and decided to take the girls swimming. Avery wore her life jacket and wasn't quite sure her abilities of staying afloat. After two hours of being there, she warmed up and loved it. Ry was a little unsure as well. She didn't totally love it. Of course, we weren't the only ones who thought it would be a good idea to go swimming. It was so crowded!! It was fun though to be with our cute little family and do something a little different.

Christmas
Unfortunately, some of my Christmas pictures got erased. Christmas so fun this year. Rylee slept in of course, but Avery is at such a fun age. Everything is awesome and is so amazing. We had the Hawkins' over for breakfast and it was a whirlwind of a holiday as usual! It was fun though. Gotta love the holidays!
Uncle Josh got Avery a four wheeler and she was soooo excited! She LOVES it! I don't think the uncles are supposed to show up Santa!!

Olsen Christmas Party

The Olsen Christmas party can be SOOOOO wild! It normally is. There are so many of us now that it is getting difficult to find a place to have everyone in the same room. My grandma loves having everyone over even though it's crazy and stressful. I love having traditions and used to love getting together with everyone. As of lately, there have been some issues and has kind of tainted the excitement of getting together anymore. It's kind of sad.

Pajama Party at School
Things to Remember
Jake and Avery had run to do a little Christmas shopping and I was playing with Rylee in Avery's room. I had asked Avery to clean out under her bed the day before, so I was checking to see if it had been done. To no surprise it hadn't. I decided to clean it out. No wonder she had told me no...I found about 10 pages total of her Tag Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story 3 books had been torn out. These books are not cheap and it infuriates me when she tears pages. Anyway, I proceed to tape them all back together. After they got home, we were rushing to a birthday party and she had fallen asleep. On our way home I asked her what had happened. She told me that she had torn out all the pages that she didn't like. All the scary pages!! I couldn't help but laugh!! Jake and I were trying to hold it together but it was a challenge. Why not tear out the pages you don't like?! You would like the book so much more if it weren't scary!! How can you be mad at that? 12/17/11
I am so behind on blogging, but I need to write things down so I don't forget.
Last night, Avery and I were racing Jake into Avery's room. She is big into racing these days. Jake asked her who she wanted to say prayers and her reply "you dad,...it's a race". Well, I didn't really understand what she meant by "it's a race" for a prayer, but as soon as Jake started praying...she quickly started! I died! I was laughing so hard! She wanted to race to say prayers!! So funny! 12/14/11
I'm recording a prayer, whether that's a good idea or not.... Avery's prayer "Heavnly Fadder, thank you for this day, thank you for mommy, and for daddy, thank you for Riley. Thank you for church. Thank you for our home. Jesus Christ Amen". **All by herself. Makes a mom proud.
Polkanuts = Polkadots
We took my cute neighbor some dinner the other night. She has a little 2 year old little boy, who is so cute. After we left, Avery says as a matter of fact "that boy was darling"!! 12/8/11
I was having a conversation with Avery in the tub. She had a yucky nose and I absolutely hate it when my girls have boogs, so I'm constantly at their noses. Anyway, Avery was telling me something and I told her to keep talking, her response "I can't mom, you're picking my nose!" :)
Rylee took her first step on Dec 6. 8 months old is just not old enough to be walking! That little stinker!
I really wish I could remember everything that Avery says, because most of the time it's hysterical. The other day she hadn't had a nap and was laying on the couch ready to fall asleep. Dinner was ready and I told her "why don't you go eat dinner and then you can go to bed?" She replies "how bout I take a little nap first, then eat dinner and go to bed." Such my little rationalizer at 3! 12/8/11

Zoolights with the Schultz's
We went to Zoo lights with our friends Annie and Dave and their boys, and Bruce and Jan. It was a fun night out. Avery thinks Boston is pretty cool and loves to hang with him. She was a tad sleepy but otherwise she had a good time. We rode the ferris wheel and saw Santa's reindeer.
Rylee is wondering what we are doing in the freezing cold!!
Avery's Dance Recital
My cute little performer. Avery had a dance recital today and did great! She loves to perform. We were in the bathroom changing and she was dancing in the mirror. After we had gotten ready, we headed to the room where we had to wait. She could hardly sit still. She loves to perform and is hardly intimidated. She does such a great job! She looks beautiful in her costume!

The girl behind Avery was singing every word! I think they knew the words to the song more than they knew the steps. It was pretty cute!
Rylee sitting on grandma Olsen's lap. She was totally amazed and dancing with the music.
Santa even came and gave all the dancers medals!
