The Zoo

This year we bought a pass to the Zoo. It's actually so nice to be able to go and not feel like you have to spend the entire day to get your money's worth. We go for a couple hours and then we come home and have lunch and then a nap! It's a great thing!! We also go when it's winter and the animals are actually more active because it's not so hot. They are remodeling and have redone a couple other exhibits. It is sooo much nicer than when we were younger. I still feel bad for the giraffes, but they are getting a new home next year.

This peacock was massive! It's feathers were beautiful!

While we were there, there was a Lego exhibit. All these animals were made out of Legos! It was insane! This polar bear was actual size. Crazy!

Soccer

Avery has been asking to play soccer for the last year and a half. We finally put here in this spring and you should see this kid! She LOVES it! She is actually pretty coordinated and is quite the little star! Everyone thinks she is the MVP of the team and is always cheering her on. It's pretty fun to watch this cute little team! It's hysterical! We have butterfly chasers, a couple kids hate it and cry, and then the other ones that get really into it. I don't think there is anything more entertaining to watch on a Saturday morning! The first couple games have been terribly cold and rainy (which didn't really help the ones that hate it already). Now that it is starting to warm up, they are enjoying it a little more. All of her team mates are from our ward, which makes it really fun. Troy Brown is her coach.

After one of the first practices, Avery was talking about Troy and called him by his first name and then corrected herself and called him coach. It was so cute!

Avery had a birthday party that happened to be at the exact same time as one of her soccer games. I asked her which one she wanted to go to....her response "I think I will go to the birthday party and let the other people on my team score a goal." She is so gracious don't you think?! She does score quite a few goals and is quite aggressive. Jake told her she could shove a little....who tells a four year old to shove in a rec soccer game?!!

Spring Time is Finally HERE!!!

Avery learned to ride a two wheel bike!! I am so proud!
This is the reason I love where we live. We live in a culdasac and there is a basketball hoop at the end of our street. All the little kids gather here and ride their bikes, scooters, and draw with chalk. It's so fun to have so many friends!

Koy Johnson and Avery

I was cleaning out the basement, trying to get organized (that is not my strong point) and this little munchkin was helping me. She got dressed herself!! Funny girl!

Rylee really wanted to go play outside...there is something missing?!??

Rylee loves the dogs. We have Sierra while Josh is staying with us. Rylee thought she was so big taking her for a walk on the leash.

My little beauty having chips for brunch....

We sit in the car and wait while Avery goes to gymnastics. I love this cute little profile. She thinks she is so funny!

The many faces of Rylee Jayde....

Rylee does this face when she is teasing me. She will make this face and say "mine".

ewwww I love this girl!

Rylee's 2nd Birthday

Oh my heavens, where did the last two years go?! Rylee turned 2 and I can't hardly stand it!! You ask her how old she is and she replies as a matter of fact "five". Don't wish three years to go by so fast sweet pea! Rylee is so fun and is so energetic. She loves to sing to the Children's Songbook. Particularly, she loves "Do as I'm Doing", "Popcorn" and "I am a Child of God". She loves to go to nursery and do all of the hand motions. She loves Avery, but also loves to tease and torment her. When she doesn't want something, she will say "no tank you". She loves gogurts and candy. She is my little sweet tooth baby. She LOVES sweets just like her mom :). When you ask her to do something, she will reply "ya, sure"!

For her birthday, we had both our families over for cake and ice cream. She was so cute and so excited to open her gifts. We were waiting for my dad to get to our house, as Rylee screams to me "PRESENTS"!! She wanted to open her presents and boy was she ready! She didn't want any help from the older kids. She wanted to do it herself. She is getting too big! I try to take her picture and she either shrugs her shoulders and grins or she won't even look at me. She is a little stinker :) She got a lot of nice things from her aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Thanks for coming and making the day special!

We went to her dr. appointment and she is 55% in height, 35% in weight and 24% in head circumference. It was so funny, the doctor called her "tall" and I about fell out of my chair! My children are nowhere near "tall"!! I laughed and asked him what he meant by "tall". He laughed and just said she was a "little taller than average"! ...Whatever that means?!! I'm so used to her being in the 30% in everything, so to have her be called "tall" was kind of fun! She passed her doctor's exam with flying colors.

Rylee's "new" way of smiling....or posing...or something!

The girls "flexing" the muscles!

Sisterly love :)
