Ohio

Last week, Jake's brother Josh moved out to Ohio. He rented a Uhal and all three of us piled in. We were going to drive one day, find a hotel and then pick up where we left off from the next day. But the boys decided just to drive straight through! Let me tell you, the middle seat of a uhal is NOT comfortable!! You should have seen my ankles! They were huge! It actually wasn't that bad and having all the driving in one day felt a little better when we got there. We only had one minor issue and that was when we were in Indiana, we had to take a side street which was very narrow. Jake being the impatient driver that he is, was trying to go around a mini van and accidentally hit the mirror on a telephone pole! Seriously! He is having a bad month! (Luckily we didn't have to pay anything to fix it, since Josh had the insurance).

Anyway, we made it to Ohio and helped Josh move in. That Saturday was the U of U versus Notre Dame football game. We had to drive another 4 hours back to Indiana, so we left at 6 am that morning. It was a lousy game, but it was actually really fun to go see Notre Dame. There stadium is HUGE! And they are so tradition oriented! I think here in Utah we have such this perception that we need to be overly cautious and safety first, that we forget to have fun. These people know how to have fun! (In a good way). We went through the church and listened to the bag pipers play. (ever since going to Scotland, I love bag pipes! Love em!!) We also watched the team walk down the sidewalk while everyone cheered! It really was worth going. I don't know that we will every go back, not that we really need to, but having that experience was very fun.

The game totally sucked, it rained and it was cold. We were going to stay at a hotel that night too, but decided to drive back to Ohio. We made it home by 10 pm and all three of us crashed. Driving takes a toll on you! (and riding in the back seat puts me to sleep!)  We flew home Monday night and I couldn't wait to see my cute Avery. She had stayed with Jake's parents in Idaho and I missed her like crazy. Jake and I were both anxious to see her. As we were coming down the escalator at the airport, she started running towards us yelling "MY DADDY!!!" It was really cute! Five days was a long time, the longest I've been away from her. We are glued at the hip and do everything together. It was good to come home. When we got home, Avery was so wired she was bouncing off the walls. She wanted to dance (shocker) so she and Jake were dancing. She probably danced for an hour. She laughed and shook her booty. I really wished I could get it on tape, but as soon as I try to video her, she stops, so I just sat and enjoyed the moment. It really was a moment of heaven for me to watch Jake hold her and dance with her. It was a very tender moment, I almost started to cry!!

It's A GIRL!

I'm a little behind...nothing new! On November 10th, we went in for our ultrasound. We found out we are having another little girl! I'm really excited! Avery will think that is so fun, and this one will be 5 months apart from Jaymie's little Haylee. Hopefully they will get along as well as Hadley and Avery do! It's fun to watch them.

We went into the doctor's and everything checks out well. She is growing and is right where she should be. The radiologist was very informative, (which Avery's was not. They didn't say anything!!) She showed us all her body parts, her limbs, her heart, her brain and kidneys. It is still so crazy and such a miracle that there is something living inside of me. It still kind of freaks me out! When the radiologist told us it was a girl, I had to laugh. I looked over at Jake and wondered what he was thinking! He is such a good girl daddy, and I don't think he minds that it is another girl. I think is very excited!

I think I have felt her move, but I'm still a little early. I don't think I felt Avery until 21 or 22 weeks. I am now 20 weeks and am feeling much better than the previous 16!! I'm glad to have the first trimester over. Pregnancy is not good to me. I kind of wished that I was one of those mom's that love being pregnant. You are only pregnant a certain amount of time and I wish that I could enjoy it more. Hopefully as I progress, I will be able to.

I really thought we were having a boy. I actually wasn't really sure. Funny thing is, is I knew for certain Avery was a girl without a doubt in my mind and with this one, I thought maybe it could be a boy but had really no clue. She is a girl and we can't wait to get her here....now for the hard part...coming up with a name!! Her due date is April 9, 2011.

Look at what my MUMMY made me eat!....

If any of you know my mom, she is very thoughtful and very kind hearted, but I think she slightly has a dark side as well! She wanted to make a halloween dinner just to watch the grandkids (and Sam) all lose their appetite because of what we were eating! It was so fun and has been a tradition for the past couple of years. Some things look really gross but taste good, you just can't look at it going in! Funny how our minds play a huge roll in what we think tastes good and what we think doesn't. My little Nephew, Johnny probably had the worst time eating. He is always asking if its real or what it is made out of....I secretly wanted to know too!! Thanks mom for the fun night!

And there were spiders in our salad!

 Jell-O worms!

English Mummy pizzas and draculas blood with eyeballs

Avery digging into her "coagulated blood" and "worms"!

Hadley, not having anything to do with the "worms"!!

 Cat litter dessert! MMmmm!

The cutest Wookie and puppy I've ever seen!!

Johnny striking poses while we were taking pictures!! It was so funny!!

It was such a horrible night with rain and wind and cold, and we have been celebrating Halloween what seems to be all month long so we opted out of trick or treating. I know, we are such lame parents. We didn't even dress Avery up! I figured she was dressed up for the Trunk or Treat and she also dressed up the day before and went Trick or Treating at Jake's work. What 2 year old knows the difference and I wasn't about to take her out in the freezing blowing rain!! Instead, we stayed home and my dad so badly wanted to play a game of some sort. He is so funny! I am going to have to post the video I took of him trying to get us to play his lame game! It was sort of a concentration game but his beat kept changing because he kept forgetting! It was so funny! What a fun Halloween. I am glad we survived and now it's time to look forward to Thanksgiving!! Yay for turkey!! MMmmmm.
