Gymnastics "Peeformance"

Today, I went to drop Avery off to gymnastics just like any other day. I dropped her off and was headed to Walmart to pick a couple things up. As I'm leaving the parking lot, I noticed there were quite a few more cars than normal. I wondered what I was missing and IF I was missing something. I tried to pull up the website to double check and instantly received a phone call. It was one of the teachers. She was calling me wondering if I had forgotten it was performance day....HELLO....performance day?! It hadn't even crossed my mind. Avery wasn't in her correct leotard and we hadn't even talked about it. I told Crystal that I had completely spaced it and wondered if I had time to run home to get her leotard. She told me it would be over by the time I went home, so I better just come. As I'm walking inside, feeling like "the mother of the year", I noticed that Avery had changed. She was wearing someone else's leotard to match. As I'm sitting there, trying so hard to hold back tears and be the proud parent, I am feeling like the worst person ever. I could tell Avery wasn't her normal "peeformance" self. She loves to perform and loves to have the attention on her, but something was off. It was almost like she was trying to hold back tears as well. She did a great job and I WAS so proud of her, but I felt bad that her dad and grandparents couldn't be there.
After they had completed their 10 min performance, pictures were taken and Deanna, (the owner and teacher) was looking for Avery. Mind you, she is pretty straight forward, not a ton of emotion and a very strict teacher. I'm a little intimidated by her to say the least. She was pretty direct when she told Avery that she needed to change out of the leotard she was in and put on a "different" leotard that wasn't even hers and that the owner of the leotard Avery was wearing, wore Avery's home. Avery lost it. I thought I had embarrassed her and then I lost it. I told her to go change so we could get out of there as fast as possible! Avery was putting her shoes on and a cute little mom came up to her and asked her if she was the one that could do the one handed cartwheel. I of course, said "ya, she can" quickly, so we could get out of there. I guess her daughter wants to be able to do the one handed cartwheel and wanted to talk to Avery about it. I on the other hand, just wanted to get the heck out of there! I threw the kids in the car and got the heck out of there!! I was bawling. I felt like the biggest loser of a mom. I felt like I had let my child down and it was totally out of her control. Honestly, I have never felt so horrible in my life. It was a horrible feeling. I don't know that she will ever remember today. Probably not. She will have more performances, but I felt so rotten. Hopefully she won't remember and we can move on. Not my greatest moment.

oh....and my phone was full so I didn't even take any pictures. It was a bad day. :(

My parents, Sam, Angie and Jaymie and Mark all went to Hawaii this spring and my mom brought home some gifts for all of us. The little girls got hula skirts and seriously, it was hysterical! We were all crying from laughing so hard! They were trying to hula...with my dad's teaching, of course and their coconuts were hanging down around their waists!

Mother's Day

Avery brought home my favorite....chocolate covered strawberries, from preschool! YUMM-O!!

Today we went in for an ultrasound. I am 19 weeks along and guess what....we are having another....GIRL!!! Yay! I'm very excited. It will be so fun to have three little munchkins running around. I don't know that we would know what to do if we had a boy?!! They are so different than girls! We'll just stick to what we know best! Can't wait to meet this sweet thing.

9 Years of Bliss!

We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this year. It's so fun to think of where we have come and where life is going to take us. Life is so great. I am so blessed to have such a cute little family. Jake and I went downtown and stayed at the Grand America. Bruce and Jan stayed at our house and watched the girls. Can I just tell you that I married such a great guy?! I'm sure I don't tell him enough, but I love to be with him. We laugh and be goofy and it's so much fun. I love to be with him. Jake makes it about me when we go out and honestly who doesn't like that?! ;) He makes sure that it's what I want to do, rather than what he wants. He truly is my knight in shining armor. I couldn't ask for better. I love you Jakey!! Happy Anniversary!

The Dinosaur Museum for Chase's Birthday

For Chase's birthday, we went to the dinosaur museum with the Becker's. Let's just say, Avery was mortified of the dinosaurs and Rylee was being her typical hard self. It was fun to be with the Becker's and let the kids play. Avery kills me! She has to pose for every picture!!!

These three pictures are so funny....The first one...everyone's sort of happy.....the second one Avery is posing.....everyone is getting squished and not very happy...the third one...Avery, once again is posing while all the mayhem is going on.....and Haylee hates that she is being touched!! Beckee and I were cracking up!

And yes, we have to have one by ourself....posing :)

Picture overload, but trying to get 7 munchkins to all look at me and smile, wasn't going to happen! Chase is looking at the shark worried its going to come alive or....something!!

Rylee was "reading" the plaque and explaining it to someone, whoever would listen I guess!!

 Digging for bones!
Rylee hates to get dirty, so it took her a minute to warm up to the idea of sand!!

The kids found a photo booth and us being the cheapskates that we are, did not want to pay for photos :) so we improvised and captured our own! I love that Avery is squishing Had's cheek....who taught her that one?!

Another photo op....Seriously, at least Avery is enjoying getting her picture taken!! I can't say that for the rest of them :)

...and do you think they would all hold still, look at me and smile?.....no!

Happy birthday cute Chasee boy!! We love you!
LIFE IS SO GOOD.

Haylee Bug

While half of my family went to Hawaii to sit in the sun, we were able to have Haylee for a few days. If you have ever had a niece or nephew, they honestly feel like they are your own. I love this little girl like she is part of my little family. She is so stinkin cute! After a few hours, she started calling me mommy. :) "tank you, mommy" "pease, mommy". I love her.

These two wouldn't smile for anything! They were so serious in their coloring!

Sad that an iPad is entertainment for two year olds!!

We stopped over at my mom's and they thought the cat was so funny. None of them would get close, but they enjoyed chasing him!!

Slave Driver

My house needs a little spring cleaning....and after all, isn't this why we have kids in the first place?!! Just kidding! She was a great helper though....and she wanted to do it!! Love that kid
