Day at the Park!

Johnny was seriously so excited to be there! He was cracking me up with all of his giggles!!!
Let me out! Let me out!!!
There is a picture of a "barber" that has a bald head and mustache, Avery kept saying "nice, nice" to Haddie so that Haddie would touch him!! She did it several times!
So, I had thought that school had started for most kids, but after going to this park in West Jordan with my sister and her kids....I thought otherwise!! There must have been a group or something because all the little kids were wearing lanyards and it was slightly crazy! It was such a fun park! I know Johnny and Mikaylee loved it! It was a little too big for Avers and Haddie, but they still had a good time, in the heat and all!! Rosy cheeks everywhere!

Girl Power!

I love these two little munchkins!
(Karmindy) "Karmey" and Avery

Sumertime fun!!

Kennecott Copper Mine

Last week Avery, my mom, and my cute friend Ashlee and her cute kids Karmindy and Kaleb, all went to Kennecott Copper Mine. I seriously felt like my dad would have been so proud!! He is TOTALLY into things of the history nature! ...and I'm sure if he could have seen me then, passing down the torch, he would have been thrilled!! :) It was free day, so why not take advantage of it and go see what it's like?! My dad took us there when we were really little and I it was everything I had remembered! We watched a 15 minute movie on how everything works. My mom had mentioned how there weren't as many people working, as before it looked like ants all over the hillside, and I think I can remember that as well. There were only a handful of those monster trucks! They are huge! It was fun to get out of the house and do something educational! Might as well enjoy the things around us huh?! Thanks mom for coming out with us even if it wasn't really what you wanted to do!!!! ;)

Demolition Derby!

Saturday night, we decided to go to the Riverton demolition derby! We have gone in previous years and they are seriously so fun! I'm not sure where some of these people come from, but it's kind of fun to people watch as well! We had to get there early since we didn't buy our tickets previously so Avery was a little exhausted. After it started, she LOVED it! Who would have thought. She would say "cars crash!" I didn't get very good pictures of her, but she was thrilled to be there. We went with our friends Cody and Nat, and our neighbors Cory, Torrie, and Morgan.

This is The Place Heritage Park

Beckee, my sister, invited Avery and I to tag along and go up to This is the Place Park and since it was free family day, who could resist?!! (and NO one did either!!!) There were a ton of people but it was so fun! (I used to not want to take Avery to crowded places because it gives me anxiety, but I have learned (I'm not sure how) to just go with the flow and it has actually paid off. Avery has enjoyed doing different things, and I have enjoyed watching her grow). They had arts and crafts. They had booths where you could play games and win prizes, they had a petting zoo, and a place where you could ride a horse, or pony. It was a little toasty, but it was fun to take Avery there and let her and her cousins play! Thanks for the invite Beck! We had a blast!!

**Avery and Haddie are exactly 5 months apart, and for the most part (if Avery isn't tired) they get a long pretty well! Avery LOVES to give Haddie "mooches", but Haddie doesn't always want a mooch!! They are constantly kissing eachother!! It's pretty cute! Whenever Avery sees Haddie, she squeels with excitement!

July 4th

This fourth of July weekend was quite busy! Saturday night we ended up going down to the Stadium of Fire with my sister Jaymie and her husband Mark. Carrie Underwood was the performer and it was a lot of fun! Talk about fireworks! It puts any firework show to shame! It was a little crazy, toward the end, they had a little malfunction and the fireworks started shooting into the crowd. Supposedly a lady's dress caught fire! Needless to say the fireworks that were shooting over the crowd down on the field of the stadium were quickly turned off!! It was fun! Thanks Jaymie and Mark for the fun date night! Lucky for me my mom was willing to take Avery to the Sandy fireworks! My mom said Avery LOVED the parade and all the goes with it and she loved riding in the wagon! Thanks mom and dad for taking her! We got home late so she ended up sleeping over at my mom's. Luckily she wasn't haven't a moment during the middle of the night and actually slept the entire night! We aren't always that lucky!

That next night, we headed up to Jaymie and Mark's for a BBQ! We had hamburgers and charcol ribs! Honestly, we never go without good food! It was yummy! After dinner we did a little firework show that the boys put on. I hate to say it, but it was a little disappointing after what we had seen the night before! It was fun and I think Avery had a good time with her cousins!

Then....I know! This weekend was full of family events! On Monday, we headed down to my aunt Denece and uncle John's house for another BBQ. They pulled out the kiddie pool and slip n' slide. Avery and Haddie had a great time running around naked! Jake was thoroughly embarrassed that my kid didn't have anything on!! It's okay, she's almost 2!! She won't be able to do that for long! Thanks for the great time and food!! It was great to be with your family!!
Phew.....now on to the next event!! July is a busy month!!

Jake turns 30!!!

Jake turned 30 this year! I can't believe it!! I know I keep saying how fast time goes, but I remember like it was yesterday, thinking 25 was soooo old! and here we are 30!! It's crazy. I don't feel like I'm that 29 year old, although when I look at those 20 year olds, they just seem SO young!! Anyway, Jake is studying for the CPA exam on the 24th, so celebrating his birthday was sort of a challenge. His birthday fell on Thursday, so we decided to celebrate Friday night. On Thursday, Avery and I went down town and had lunch with Jake. I really enjoy doing that. It is so simple, but to share an hour during the day (instead of at night) was quite fulfilling. Then on Friday night we had friends and family come and have homemade cake and ice cream, and not to toot my own horn, but the ice cream was DELISH!! Ü I know Jake hates being the center of attention, but it was fun to have people over and just chat and laugh. Thanks everyone who came to celebrate this milestone in Jake's life!!

Happy Birthday Jake! I love you to pieces!
