Happy Birthday Grandma!!

Today is my grandma's birthday. I love my grandma. We actually named Avery after her. I have so many fun memories with my grandma. One of my most favorite memories was when we were little she would take all the older girl cousins down to St. George. We would swim, shop, watch movies, play games, (hide in the murphy bed, although I think that worried her a little!!) and just hang out with each other. I remember we had packed so many suitcases that they all didn't fit in her trunk. I told her that we could just put it at our feet!! How uncomfortable that was for the 4-5 hour drive!!! I remember her always giving us advise on how to stay healthy, what was good for us, what wasn't. It was so fun. I hope that she had as much fun as we did. Some of my other memories of her are from the winter. I'm not sure why we were such winter family, but we loved to snowmobile and sled down in the gulley. I remember we would all come in from being frozen to death and she would take our clothes off and wrap us in a blanket and put our clothes in the dryer. She was always fussing around making sure eveyrone had warm gloves, boots, and coats on as well. She always took care of us. She was such a fun grandma! Another memory I have of her was about seven years ago I was able to live with her. What a blessing that was. My early twenties were kind of a challenge and she would always tell me to go talk "with the Man upstairs". She was always reading some church book, the scriptures, and/or watching The Spoken Word. What an example. We had many conversations while I lived there and I grew a deeper appriciation for her. She is close to our Heavenly Father and wants all of us to be as well. She relies on him and I think she wanted to make sure that I did too. I loved living with her. I remember when I was little when my grandpa died, telling her that I didn't know him very well and I wanted to get to know her better. I am so greatful that I had the oppurtunity. I love my grandma to death and am so greatful to her! I hope that she has a Happy Birthday!!

What a sweet post about your grandma. I remember meeting her on many occassions and she was always the neatest lady. I didn't know Avery was named after her. That's really special for Avery.

That was sweet, Annalee. I don't think she'll read it, though! You should copy it and give it to her. (That's what I did)
