ER/Christmas party

This morning, Jake was getting ready to go to Las Vegas with his dad and brother to go watch the BYU vs UofU football game. They were planning on heading out around 1 pm. Jake had asked if I wanted to take Zoey for a walk with him. I had recently just gone to the bathroom and fresh blood had started to come out. I thought it was a little strange, but just figured my body was trying to get back to normal. This was about 9 am. I sat down at the fireplace and felt something going on. I ran to the bathroom in panic and Jake followed me. I was literally pouring blood. It was like a faucet! I was so confused and really didn't want to go the doctor. Jake had me call my doctor to see what I should do. I knew that if you filled a pad in an hour, you needed to go to the ER. Well, I filled it in seconds. The nurse told me to go straight to the ER. So with a towel between my legs we headed to the hospital...again!

When i stood up to get out of the car, I could feel a gush of blood come out. I didn't feel like I could move. I stood at the door as Jake frantically tried to get a wheel chair. He helped me inside and then I started to bawl. I was a mess. He told the nurse in the ER what was going on and they sent me back to the triage room where we waited...and waited...and waited. I felt like I was literally bleeding out. Once my doctor finally came in, he described it perfectly. It was like giving birth to jellyfish...it honestly felt like that every time I passed a clot. Needless to say, I was hemorrhaging. Nurses came in and out, the ER Dr. came in and out, I had an IV put in my right arm...and then a second one put in my left (which they ended up not needing and I was left with a HUGE bruise). While we were waiting, (not really sure what we were waiting for :)) they took my blood and did a bunch of tests. Of course, I started to feel really light-headed and I thought I was going to pass out. I then started having a panic attack. It was the worst thing ever. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't see, and I can't even describe how I felt. All I know is that I didn't ever want that to happen again. They put oxygen on me and told me to breathe. I was finally able to calm down. I didn't ever pass out...at least that I know of!

After a couple bags of saline and five hours later, they told me they were going to admit me. I had lost enough blood that they wanted to keep me over night. They had me get up and go to bathroom. Jake helped me in and after I was done, the feeling of passing out happened again. My head hurt so bad and I felt like I couldn't open my eyes. I felt my body go limp and heard Jake say "I think she's gone" or something to that effect. They quickly put me in the wheel chair and I was finally able to get back in control. It was so miserable. So...needless to say, I am at the hospital once again. So lame.

The plan is to wait and watch to see how much blood I lose and see if I can start to heal on my own, if I can't, then the next plan of attack is to have a d&c in the morning. If the d&c doesn't work, than a hysterectomy may be in my near future. Which, seems a little extreme to me. I've never had any other issues besides this one and to need to take my uterus out, seems a little crazy!

While everyone at home was having a Christmas party...Jake, Ashtyn and I were sitting in the hospital. At least I could have my baby!

I sent this to my dad saying they were having much more fun than I was!
At the party at my parents house...

So thankful that family is close and that my kids were taken care of!

So, I ended up being in pain and couldn't stand straight. Dr. Burgett decided to send me into the OR for a d&c. Luckily it wasn't too bad. I actually felt 100% better after it was done. So strange! I was able to go home later this afternoon. What a pain. Hopefully NOW my body can start to heal. It's been through quite a bit!
